Not long ago, books used to be the source of all recorded knowledge. But with the advancing computer age, books have taken a back seat, giving way to PCs, laptops, palmtops, etc.
Still, the "retreat" of books gives a wrong impression of their demise, as they make inroads via ebooks, audio books, etc. Books are still an important source of all knowledge, in whichever format they come. After all, a book is a collection of written words, whether they come in hard copy on paper, or in eletronic version. Knowledge has to be recorded one way or another, and the best way to do that is in the written language of books.
