Best Jobs for All the Stay-At-Home Moms Out There

Six IT jobs for moms working from home

It is not that big of secret that raising a kid while having a full-time job has never been an easy task. That is why some of the families are forced to leave one parent home to commit its full attention to kids, while the other one is burdened with the task of supporting the entire family. The parent staying at home is usually a mother.

Fortunately, this situations is about to change because the rise of IT industry opened numerous telecommuting options, and enabled all the stay-at-home mothers out there to earn enough money working from home, without sacrificing their family life. Let us look at some of them.

Survey Taker

All serious businesses need some kind of feedback to find their ideal target audience and determine whether their marketing strategies are providing results or not. Your job as a survey taker will be to provide them with the necessary data. Register to as many survey websites as you can, and once the surveys that fit your demographics show up, they will contact you and ask your opinion for the reasonable compensation.

Data Entry Worker

Essentially, a data entry worker inputs the necessary data into companies’ computer programs. This may sound like a breeze but the mentioned data can sometimes be very extensive. So, if you are a fast typer, and you own a good computer this might just be the job for you. Be aware, though, that depending on the data you are going to work with, the company may require some special skills from you, so be ready to constantly broaden your skill set.

Online Teacher

Any knowledge has a value - you just need to put a price on it. Look through your skill set, find out what can be useful to others (that can be virtually anything ranging from knitting and cooking to playing a guitar and doing a math), invest some money in the necessary equipment, and start marketing yourself on the web. Some child care centers are even providing online lessons so you can apply to them.

Direct Salesperson

The MLM is on the rise. Feel free to jump this bandwagon and see if you can succeed as a direct salesperson. In order to do that, you will need a lot of will, great negotiation skills, and loads of energy. A wide network of friends should not be a bad addition, either. Still, if you manage to establish some core customer base, and recruit few associates, you will already be on a good way to a stable income flow.

Virtual Assistant

If you have some office background and good organization skills, you should also consider applying for the job of a virtual assistant. Your duties will consist of appointing meetings, data processing, creating documents, researching, organizing events, scheduling, and number of similar tasks. Essentially, you will do everything a regular assistant does, just from the comfort of your home.

Transcriptionist

A transcriptionist listens to audio recordings and types them in a document. Although it sounds easy and pretty self-explanatory, this profession has a few challenges of its own, mostly due to various accents and unfamiliarity with the spoken topic. Still, these obstacles can be tackled with some patience and a little bit of research.

You know how they say – ‘Where there is a will, there is a way”. The fact that you are raising children, therefore, should not prevent you from earning. The current offer of telecommuting jobs is more than satisfying so we hope that you will find your ideal job, if not amongst the ones we mentioned above, very soon.
